Zero Data Collection

No user accounts, no telemetry metrics, no identity tracking, and no external databases. Your photos never leave your device.

SECTION 01

Introduction & Overview

Welcome to the Privacy Policy for Mirocam (hereinafter referred to as "the Application", "we", "us", or "our"). Mirocam is a dedicated Android mobile photography tool engineered to capture RAW sensor streams, perform high-precision 3D LUT analog film emulation, and render halation, bloom, and organic film grain.

We believe that privacy is a fundamental human right. Photography captures intimate, personal, and artistic moments of your life. Under no circumstance should a camera application monitor, harvest, or monetize your creative process.

Fundamental Promise

Mirocam operates completely offline. All image processing, viewfinder previews, color science calculations, and file outputs occur entirely on your local device hardware. We do not maintain any user database or cloud server.

SECTION 02

Information We Do Not Collect

To provide crystal-clear transparency, the following list enumerates data categories that Mirocam never collects, processes, transmits, or stores:

  • No Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or social media logins.
  • No Photo Uploads: Photos or RAW DNG files captured within Mirocam are never transmitted to any remote servers, cloud backups, or third-party networks.
  • No Usage Telemetry or Analytics: We do not log which film recipes you use, how many pictures you take, how long you open the app, or what settings you adjust.
  • No Advertising Identifiers: We do not read Google Advertising ID (AAID), Android ID, IMEI, or hardware serial numbers.
  • No Biometric or Facial Recognition: Our viewfinder rendering pipeline applies purely geometric and colorimetric transformations. It does not perform facial recognition, iris scanning, or demographic profiling.
SECTION 03

Android Permissions & Why We Need Them

In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies and Android runtime permission standards, Mirocam requests only the minimal set of hardware and system permissions required to provide core camera features:

Purpose: Essential for accessing your phone's physical image sensors via the Android Camera2 API to provide the live viewfinder feed, manual exposure controls, autofocus, and photo capture. The camera stream is displayed locally and is never broadcast or streamed over the internet.

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGERequired

Purpose: Used solely via Android Scoped Storage / MediaStore API to save your rendered JPEG, 16-bit TIFF, or RAW DNG images directly into your standard device photo gallery (DCIM/Mirocam), as well as allowing you to import your own custom 3D LUT (.cube or .png) preset files.

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONOptional

Purpose: Disabled by default. If you explicitly choose to enable GPS geotagging in the camera settings, location coordinates are written strictly into the local EXIF metadata headers of the JPEG/DNG file on your device. Mirocam never transmits or caches your geographic coordinates.

SECTION 04

RAW Sensor & Camera Data Pipeline

Mirocam connects directly to your phone's camera hardware through the native Android NDK and Camera2 API:

  • Sensor Ingestion: Uncompressed Bayer RAW sensor streams are received into protected local memory buffers.
  • Hardware Processing: Demosaicing and color transforms are computed in real time using OpenGL ES 3.0 fragment shaders and our native LibRaw C++ module.
  • Volatile Memory: Intermediate frame buffers in RAM are immediately discarded as new frames arrive; no background frame recordings or silent captures take place.
SECTION 05

Local Storage & Photo Ownership

Every single photograph, recipe preset, and setting file created inside Mirocam belongs 100% to you:

  • Storage Directory: Captured photos are saved directly into your device's public DCIM/Mirocam folder or user-selected directory.
  • User Deletion: You can view, share, or delete any photo at any time using your preferred Android Gallery app or file manager. Deleting the app does not erase photos already saved to your gallery.
  • Custom LUTs: Any .cube or film recipe imported by you remains strictly on your device's local application storage.
SECTION 06

Third-Party Services, SDKs & Libraries

Many modern mobile applications bundle heavy tracking SDKs that silently monitor user actions. Mirocam takes an uncompromising stand against this practice:

Zero External Tracking SDKs

• NO Google Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics
• NO Facebook / Meta SDK
• NO Advertising networks (Google AdMob, Unity Ads, AppLovin)
• NO Behavioral attribution trackers (Adjust, AppsFlyer, Branch)

Mirocam utilizes only audited, offline open-source C/C++ libraries (such as LibRaw and libpng) for image decompression and mathematics. None of these libraries contain network routines or phone-home telemetry.

SECTION 07

Children's Privacy Protection (COPPA Compliance)

Mirocam is a general utility camera application suitable for all ages. Because the application does not collect any personal data, accounts, or telemetry from any user, it does not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union), in full compliance with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child protection regulations.

User Rights Under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA

Under privacy regulations including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), users possess rights regarding their personal data, including the right to access, rectify, port, and erase data, as well as the right to opt-out of data sales.

Because Mirocam collects zero personal data, stores zero profiles, and operates without external servers:

  • There is no personal information stored on our servers to request, export, or delete.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize any personal information of any kind.
  • You hold continuous, full control over all your images and presets directly on your Android filesystem.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates, new offline capabilities, or changes in legal regulations. When changes are made, the "Effective Date" at the top of this document will be updated. We recommend reviewing this page periodically. Continued use of Mirocam signifies your acceptance of any revisions.
